WHICH CHAMPIONSHIP CLUB HAS A 100% TRANSFER SATISFACTION RATING?

One Yorkshire club have done incredible business according to their fans, while Burnley fans anxiously await the new season

YOU have to take your hat off to Paul Warne, Rob Scott, Tony Stewart and everyone else responsible for Rotherham’s recruitment.

According to Sky Bet’s latest Fan Hope Survey, Millers supporters could not be happier with their club’s transfer business this summer.

Manager Warne, head of talent ID Scott and chairman Stewart have been busy bringing in a number of new faces during the close season.

Freebie strikers Tom Eaves and Conor Washington have arrived.

While the defence has been bolstered by the signings of Cameron Humphreys, Jamie McCart, Peter Kioso, Cohen Brammall and Grant Hall.

It appears to be just what the doctor ordered, as 100 per cent of the club’s followers who were surveyed said they were satisfied with recruitment.

That is up a whopping 45 per cent when they were asked the same question last month.

Those calling the shots at Luton can also give themselves a pat on the back.

That is because 83 per cent of Hatters fans are content with the successful pursuits of Carlton Morris, Luke Freeman, Cauley Woodrow, Matt Macey and more - up 16 per cent on June’s results.

Sunderland, Middlesbrough and West Brom all made significant improvements in how their fans perceive their business, following the respective arrivals of Jack Clarke, Zack Steffen and Jed Wallace et al.

Indeed, the only significant drop in fan opinion over the course of four weeks is at Stoke, whose results are down seven per cent.

That is despite a serious squid overhaul at the Potters, including Dwight Gayle and Will Smallbone being snared from the Premier League.

The difference in how Burnley is perceived by its own supporters and those from the rest of the league also makes for fascinating reading.

A league-high 43 per cent of Clarets fans feel their squad is weaker than it was last season, which is no shock given players had to be sold following relegation.

Yet Burnley came top when followers of all teams voted on which side had done the best business this summer.

It suggests Championship enthusiasts are impressed not only with the canny captures of Scott Twine, Ian Maatsen, Taylor Harwood-Bellis and more, but also the £30million raised from the sales of Nathan Collins and Nick Pope.

Followers of Watford, Huddersfield, Blackburn, Boro, Birmingham and QPR all felt their squads were not at the level of last term too.

But the opposite was true for Sunderland, Luton and, of course, the merry Millers.
