FANS OF PREM BIG SPENDERS NAME DREAM SIGNINGS

Chelsea, Man City & Man United looking likely to meet fans’ wishes, but sought-after England stars Rice & Bellingham to remain out of reach for now

ON the face of it, Liverpool have done some excellent business in the transfer market this summer.

Yes, Sadio Mane has gone, but he has been replaced by two younger models in the shape of record-signing Darwin Nunez and Fulham wonderkid Fabio Carvalho.

While, crucially, Mo Salah has committed his future by signing a new, three-year contract.

Yet Reds fans are the only set of supporters out of a big-name quartet also including Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea not to land - or look close to landing - their dream target.

That is according to Sky Bet’s Fan Hope Survey, which asked followers of the four clubs who were their top targets from a list of 15 stellar names this summer.

Admittedly, Nunez was already in the bag for Jurgen Klopp, so perhaps they had already picked up their main man.

But for Reds disciples, it was Jude Bellingham who drew the majority of the vote, as the calls grow louder for the Brummie starlet to come back to England one day.

Erling Haaland’s sale is likely to rule out an exit from Borussia Dortmund this summer for Bellingham - but look out for the teenager to be the name on everyone’s lips in a year’s time.

Kalvin Phillips topped City fans’ wishlist - meaning they will be very happy bunnies right now - while Raheem Sterling and Christian Eriksen were the respective Chelsea and United choices.

One player who featured in all of the quartet’s top five was Declan Rice.

Yet when West Ham supporters were asked how much they would sell the England midfielder for, the majority said they wouldn’t for any price.

Aston Villa, Leeds and Spurs were among the fanbases pretty impressed with their business already this summer after several shiny new faces pitched up at their clubs.

A new striker was generally the priority for most supporters in terms of which position needs strengthening.

Gooners will be happy their prayers have been answered by Jesus; ambitious Newcastle want more firepower and the regulars at Stamford Bridge are requesting a Romelu Lukaku replacement from new owner Todd Boehly.

United need a new spine with a centre-back, central midfielder and striker required - with most fans agreeing Cristiano Ronaldo alone - if he stays, that is - is not enough up top.

Spurs supporters buck the trend by being after a centre-back to form a formidable back three alongside Eric Dier and Cristian Romero.

Leicester’s followers blame the players far more than Brendan Rodgers for last year’s slump, so a new face or three would not hurt to keep them sweet at the King Power.

The prevailing feeling in the Molineux stands is that their Portuguese model is sustainable so expect that to continue.

Crystal Palace’s fanbase are split over how much they would pay to turn Conor Gallagher’s loan permanent.

A slim majority say £30m plus, some going more, some going less and some saying they would not buy him at all.

Brighton’s main focus is keeping hold of manager Graham Potter yet 69 per cent of their supporters surveyed feel he is destined for a top-six job in the next two seasons.

Most Brentford fans felt Eriksen was their greatest-ever player, showing what a challenge it will be to replace him.

While Southampton supporters largely blame see the solution to their inconsistency being bringin in better quality players.

Out of all last year’s loanees, Nottingham Forest fans would take Djed Spence first.

While 77 per cent of Bournemouth’s faithful believe Dominic Solanke can be a hit in the Premier League this time round.
