Ryan Allsop / Free / Derby
The 30-year-old goalkeeper was a solid performer in a bad Derby team last season and will certainly be in the mix to be Cardiff's number one. 3/5
Mahlon Romeo / Free / Millwall
Romeo hasn't always thrived at Championship level at right-back but arrives off the back of a decent season on loan at Portsmouth to fill a big need for Cardiff. 2/5.
Ebou Adams / Free / Forest Green
The Gambia international was one of the standout players in Forest Green's League Two winning side and should bring plenty of energy to Cardiff's midfield. Could prove a very shrewd signing. 4/5
Jamilu Collins / Free / Paderborn
Cardiff have a promising left-back in Joel Bagan but he may lose his place to Nigeria international Collins, who has more experience at senior level and proved reliable for German side Paderborn. 3/5
Callum O'Dowda / Free / Bristol City
The Republic of Ireland international crosses the Severn with a point to prove after falling out of favour at Bristol City. He's shown he can perform at this level in the past and a fresh start may revive the winger's career. 3/5.
Vontae Daley-Campbell / Free / Leicester
The young right-back, a product of the Arsenal academy, captained Leicester's Under-23 team and had a loan spell at Dundee but has moved to Cardiff in search of more first-team opportunities. 3/5
Ollie Tanner / Undisclosed / Lewes
The 20-year-old caught the eye in non-league football and Tottenham were keen to sign him in January so Cardiff were happy to take a punt on a player who describes himself as "a fast, powerful winger". 3/5
Jak Alnwick / Free / St Mirren
A former England youth international, Alnwick was St Mirren's first-choice goalkeeper for the past two seasons after a spell on the bench at Rangers. At 28 he should be getting better but still has questions to answer at this level. 2/5
Andy Rinomhota / Free / Reading
A good box-to-box central midfielder who Cardiff had to fight hard to sign. He'll bring plenty of energy to the team but the Bluebirds will need to look elsewhere for goals and assists with Rinomhota having struggled in the final third at Reading. 3/5
Romaine Sawyers / Free / West Brom
West Brom fans never saw the best of the creative midfielder but he remains a serious talent at this level with his range of passing and technical ability a big asset to a Cardiff side that lacked creativity last season. 4/5
Sheyi Ojo / Free / Liverpool
The pacy winger enjoyed his time on loan at Cardiff in the 2020/21 season but returns to the Bluebirds still largely the same frustrating talent who can't fully be relied upon due to his inconsistency. 2/5
Cedric Kipre / Loan / West Brom
The central defender had few opportunities at West Brom but had previously been a key figure at Wigan and should be an adequate option at the heart of Cardiff's defence. 2/5
Jack Simpson / Undisclosed / Rangers
The left-footed centre-back barely got a look in at Rangers under two different managers and you have to wonder why. When he did get on the pitch, he looks comfortable in possession and might fit Cardiff's new style. 2/5

There weren't many home comforts for Cardiff last season, only relegated Barnsley had a worse record than the Bluebirds on home soil
Ryan Allsopp should help Cardiff improve on having kept the third-fewest clean sheets (seven) in the Championship last season with Bluebirds’ new goalkeeper registering nine shut outs in 30 league games for Derby.
Only one player collected more yellow cards in League Two than Ebou Adams (13) last season and the Gambian has now joined a Cardiff team that received 107 cards in total; the third-highest total in the Championship.
Cardiff have overhauled the majority of the squad this summer but are still to find a replacement for striker Kieffer Moore. The Bluebirds struggled after his mid-season exit with defender Aden Flint finishing as top scorer on six goals.
Steve Morison has a long-term plan to bring back the good times for Cardiff and it may take him longer than one season for it to bear fruit. There has been a clear policy of bringing younger, hungrier players to the club, while some of the older heads have moved on. A lack of experience could pose a problem at the start of the season but Cardiff can progress and should finish higher than last term.
