Vakoun Issouf Bayo / Undisclosed / Charleroi
The Ivorian striker has been a regular scorer throughout his career, except during a tough stint at Celtic, and should bring goals and physicality to Watford's attack. 4/5
Rey Manaj / Undisclosed / Barcelona
Albanian striker who has been something of a journeyman despite only being 25. Scored five times in 30 games for Spezia in Serie A last year and how his game will transfer to the Championship is an unknown. 2/5
Mario Gaspar / Free / Villarreal
A club legend at Villarreal, the 31-year-old winger brings bags of experience to Watford and what he lacks in pace he more than makes up for with his intelligence and movement. 4/5

Watford had the best home record in the Championship in the 2020/21 season, which should provide some comfort to the Hornets having taken a league-worst eight points at Vicarage Road last term.
Watford have finished second in their last two Championship campaigns.
When Watford won promotion in the 2020/21 season they had the best defensive record (30 goals conceded) in the division.
Watford are trying to get younger under new boss Rob Edwards with the likes of Joseph Hungbo expected to have a bigger role for the Hornets. Hungbo is back at Vicarage Road after an impressive loan stint at Ross County last season.
Watford recovered strongly after they were relegated from the Premier League in 2019-20 and they can do likewise this season. Some influential players have departed but the Hornets still have quality across the pitch and their choice of manager, Rob Edwards, could be a masterstroke. Edwards was hugely impressive at the Forest Green helm last term and can steer Watford back to the top flight.
