Nayef Aguerd / £30m / Rennes
Big things are expected of the quick and technically sound Moroccan centre-back after some fine performances in France. Should prove an asset at both ends of the field for the Hammers having scored seven goals from set pieces over the last two years. 3/5
Alphonse Areola / £10.5m / PSG
Made 18 appearances for the Hammers on loan last year with just one of those coming in the Premier League. The French international was a mainstay of their Europa League campaign and can expect a similar role again this time around. 3/5
Flynn Downes / £12m / Swansea
David Moyes has shopped well from the Championship previously and West Ham-supporting Downes could be the next off the conveyor belt. He is a classy midfielder with the scope to make his way into the Hammers midfield. 4/5
Gianluca Scamacca / £30.5m / Sassuolo
West Ham have been crying out for an alternative to Michail Antonio up front for a while and in Italy's well-rounded Scamacca they've signed a striker that fits their style perfectly. At 6ft 5in, the 23-year-old is a huge aerial threat and has an eye for goal, netting 16 times in Serie A last season. 5/5
Maxwel Cornet / Undisclosed / Burnley
Scored nine goals in a poor Burnley team last season and provides versatility for the Hammers although unlikely to be a starter when all of their options are available. 3/5

West Ham must improve their road form against the top clubs, having taken just one point from a possible 27 in away games against the rest of the top ten last season.
Jarrod Bowen enjoyed a breakthrough 2021/22 campaign, registering 24 total goal involvements in the league, while Michal Antonio hit double figures for a third season running.
Although 37, West Ham shot-stopper Lukasz Fabianski (three) saved more penalties than any other goalkeeper in the Premier League last season.
West Ham were one of the division's more entertaining sides last season, having finished the campaign as one of only two teams to have scored in all 19 of their home fixtures.
West Ham have established themselves among the Premier League's top seven but a run of four wins in 14 matches to finish the campaign was far from ideal. Jarrod Bowen and Declan Rice are top players to build around but another European campaign may take its toll on a small squad and mid-table looks about right.
West Ham to finish in the top half
